The Library plans its activities every year with an Annual Action Plan.
Our 2008/09 Action Plan aims to achieve the following objectives:

The delivery of HWURPA (Heriot-Watt University Research & Publications Archive)– a publicly-available repository of the full text digital versions of Heriot Watt University doctoral theses awarded since 2008.

An expanded series of workshops to assist students in their learning on topics such as citing correctly and on plagiarism; on searching the web effectively to find quality information.

Support of the new Digital Copies service which allows copyright-cleared journal articles and book chapters to be embedded in VISION modules.

The development and delivery of a new Library web site.

A review of student learning facilities across the University.

The delivery of a new library and learning support service from April 2009 for the new campus at Galashiels which supports both the University and Borders College students and staff.

The installation of a Library Management System at the Dubai Campus to provide an online catalogue and lending service.
