There will be a cafe on the entrance floor (Level 2) of the Library from September serving the same range of drinks and snacks that you can buy at Cafe Brio. We have called it Dewey’s after the classification scheme that the Library uses to arrange its books on the shelves, so do drop in for a 641.8157 (the number for muffins) next session. September will be month of special promotions.

Undergraduates, Masters & Diploma students
All Standard Loan books which you have borrowed this term are due for return by Friday 6 June.
All your books should be returned to the Service Desk in either Riccarton or Martindale Libraries. As all books have to be returned at the end of the year, it is not possible to use the self-service feature in the catalogue at the end of this term. If you wish to keep your loans over the Summer Vacation, tell the Service Desk staff and they will issue the books for the summer.
All Standard Loan books which you borrow for the summer are due for return in the first week of next Semester – by Friday 19 September.
If you have any questions about borrowing, contact the Service Desks in the Riccarton or Galashiels Libraries.

Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 May are University holidays on the Riccarton campus. Riccarton Library will be open as normal on both those days from 09.00 – 21.45. Thanks to those staff who have volunteered to work on their holidays to keep the Library open in the run-up to the exams.
Martindale Library will also be open as normal, as these days are not holidays in Galashiels.
